Yesterday was intimate, today is intricate. I feel like because designs in SL often have to be exaggerated to be “seen,” sometimes the subtleties of a piece of jewelry or belt, for example, are overlooked. So this is all about those details that make whatever we’re wearing special. Very. Even if you’re the only person who notices because everyone else… Read more →

Not Too Shabby
More from Shiny Shabby, the perfect retro, bohemian, vintage collection of treasures. It is so up my fashion alley. I won’t ever tire of it. There is a very special necklace there that I am not showing yet because I need something worthy of it, but I cannot wait to style it! I would not be surprised if practically every… Read more →
Fancy That
A Friday afternoon and I happen to be home, poised to visit Shiny Shabby once again. And fancy that, it’s just as good as last month’s. I also exerted a bit more self control this round….well sort of. There were no major skin releases, so that helped. Starting with a few of my favorites is the farmhouse type dress by… Read more →
Howdy
And now for something completely different… There’s a western inspired collection out at Overhigh made up of everything from hats to skirts to ponchos and cloaks. The whole collection is quite good and I’m showing a few pieces here. This skirt type was really popular last fall when both Burberry showed a line of Prorsum ponchos on all the celebrities. It’s… Read more →
Context
I mentioned in an earlier post that I am totally unfamiliar with the TV series Twin Peaks. I understand it’s coming back to Showtime next year, so maybe I will get a taste then. Admittedly, I am confused by the theme at this round of Collabor88, but only because I have no context. One thing I am never confused about… Read more →
Over the Top
Sometimes when I go too traditional (in either life), I need to shake things up, go a little overboard, be over the top. But still be me. I mixed some bold hairs with some of the newness at Maitreya, who released dresses, tops and skirts just for the Maitreya Lara mesh body. Rawr! Pink glitter is so overpowered. The… Read more →
Do you ever wish…?
That you could walk around in your real life with fairy wings? I do. I wish I could wear my fairy wings, my big spoon, my foxy socks. All the time. One of the greatest things about SL is that it’s easy to express yourself, whether you’re an artist, builder or just a dreamer. I do wish I could find… Read more →
Adventures in Gacha-ing…
Gacha is a new phenomenon since I came back to SL. It existed in one form or another way back when, but there wasn’t an entire category dedicated to it. In general, I am not a huge fan. I understand the way it works, but it’s frustrating to spend money on something not being able to guarantee what you get.… Read more →
In the East
I debated picking this up from GizzA at Shiny Shabby. I like the colors available (all soft options) and the patterns are gorgeous but I rarely like the way cable knit looks in SL. I would have preferred the dress with the sweater optional (and I would have liked a tea length option too 😉 ). In the end though,… Read more →
Go big or go home
I feel like that’s a sports thing, but in this case, I am talking about hair. Little Bones doesn’t do subtle as far as I can see. This is a good thing because the hairs are unapologetic and the textures are very distinct to their brand. The shine on the browns is pretty epic although the stylings don’t always flatter… Read more →
Old world
More from the fantastic Shiny Shabby event, which I have already gushed over. More beautiful items that can be styled so many ways. Mmmmm I love the softness of this beautiful set by UFO. I will be going back for more colors because the texturing is exquisite. I love when something is not overdone but so obviously made with great… Read more →
Shiny Shabby
It did not disappoint. One of the best – I think actually the best – event I have been to since my return to SL. So much to love, so much to take in. It will definitely take multiple trips for me to see it all. I tend to rush in and rush out when a sim is so packed.… Read more →
Yes please
I saw these shoes when I first went to Feb L’accessoires but I skipped them the first time through because I normally look for shoes for my various mesh bodies. Of course, it was somehow lost on me that with the socks attached, I didn’t need to worry about feet at all! On my second pass through (am I the… Read more →
Oliver Twist(ed)
This outfit is slightly Oliver Twist inspired, but with a twist of red you could say. I loved the newsboy pants from Fashionably Dead and wanted to include something a little more unexpected. I dug around in my “new but not used” inventory and found this great hair from Olive, that I believe was a FLF offering around Christmas. Read more →
