A quick note about IRL
I mention that I travel to the beach a lot, where my parents live year round. One of the unexpected “silver linings” of the pandemic is that I can work from anywhere – and so I spend weeks at a time living and working from my parents’ home. My mom is in poor health and I want to spend as much time with my parents as absolutely possible. I cook for my dad, take care of the dog and watch old movies with them every night. It’s bittersweet but I am so grateful for the flexibility to work from their house. I wouldn’t have the opportunity were it not for the global pandemic. Ironic.
