What a difference a year makes! Another year nearly came and went without the list of what was, but luckily I made it just in the nick of time. Here’s my short, opinionated take on things I loved and things I could do without in the New Year
Some of my most favorite things from 2016 in SL
- Milan appliers – for fiore heads, of course. There are no better dark skins on the grid, IMO
- Simone v2 – Simone was always my favorite LeLutka head and now she’s back, only better. I am still messing with my shape for her
- The collaboration between ISON x Rowne. I eagerly await the second line, but this time with better single color options, hopefully
- e.Marie mesh nails. I mean, someone should license these for their mesh body (with bento hands) and build them right in tbh.
- Collabor88 – basically the one event with the best selection, prices, and layout
- Bauhaus Movement – The very best poses (and some gorgeous accessories too) in my vast inventory. Love!
- Luxe Box – really fun, really good designers, and really great packaging
- Bento – just beginning my journey here and looking forward to more!
Some of my least favorite things from 2016 in SL
- Too many events – I really feel like creators are showing some “event fatigue.” In the end we all lose because there’s less creativity, less care, and more of an endless “conveyor belt” feeling to what should be an inspiring and fun experience.
- Too many events leads to releasing items that look too similar to previous releases. Particularly appliers – ugh.
- “Inspired by” items that are too close to the actual RL piece with no crediting. If you’re going to release something in world based on original designs IRL, please credit the designer somewhere.
- “Slut wear” – Ok so it’s not my favorite style obviously, but beyond that, it’s also particularly uninspired in SL.
