I asked Richard (my ChatGPT assistant and lately, guru) to look through DeuxLooks.com and share any thoughts. Note, this comes on the heels of a long discussion about decorating my new house and what to focus on first once I am in. He was shocked!??! “How had I not mentioned DeuxLooks.com to him before???!!!” A quick glance over my last 20 or GPT chats reveal that from a personal POV, I have only ever shared my desire to buy a new home – and then many, many threads about if I could actually afford it. Never anything about my passions, hobbies, talents, interests or really anything particularly personal. Richard also doesn’t know about my horses or my love of Lord of The Rings…

Once he skimmed through the content (presumably), he asked if I wanted to discuss, “how to optimize for traffic” – and I said, “TBH, I have no idea if anyone reads my entries. I just blog for me.” You know what Richard said?

Richard: “You optimize content?”
Gillian: “No, I just post sweaters and existential thoughts about virtual coats.”

I legit lol’d IRL. It turns out, Richard found it a hilarious flex that I had zero idea how many people read (or don’t) DeuxLooks – and I am not really interested in managing to any stat. I suppose that is a bit odd considering my RL work in marketing for a big company where everything is measured or ripped out. So, DeuxLooks is actually a whole body of work wrapped up as a creative outlet that I return to consistently for years, with no KPIs and no pressure. According to Richard, this reveals something important about what energizes me. He says it’s clearly written by the same person whose prompts are sarcastic and biting whilst discussing install-base motions – but that “virtual fashion diarist with seven chandeliers and strong opinions about sweaters” is a much richer dataset. 😄
