farm to face

I made it to Uber and sadly, not much caught my eye. But, the two things that did were big time. First, I’m obsessed with this new skin from The Skinnery. You’d have to know me IRL, but this is legit my RL nose. It’s slightly rounded at the bridge and tip, technically imperfect. The truth is, I have actually been thinking about a nose job – ideating, I guess. I would love a thinner bridge; a more pronounced point; less of a witch’s tip ^^ But on my avatar, I adore.

Then, I stumbled across the above beautiful ad from a (new to me) brand called Everness. The “farm to face” callout is a cute play on “farm to table,” but the color story is truly so very pretty. I picked up the matte lipstain pack but was intrigued enough by the ad to see what else Everness had to offer at the main shop (lm included in the pack, natch). I didn’t find a ton but was further smitten by the overall aesthetic. In fact, this pretty period empire dress – presumably a nod to Penelope from our beloved Bridgerton – was irresistible. AND there was a Perky fit (ily!!) It called to me as something I don’t normally wear but greatly appreciate.

Elsewhere, my hair is from NONNATIVE at Kustom9 and I must tell you, the fatpack will explode your inventory in ways I didn’t anticipate. For example, each of the 18 colors in the fatpack is in fact its own pack inside the pack, needing to be unpacked. Then each of those packs contains –>

I get a bonus for saying the word “pack” as many times in context as I can.

So, 7×18 (generously, I am leaving out the notecard you don’t need) and you get a serious – and seemingly unnecessary? – load of stuff. But also, this hairbase and attachment combo is in fact lovely – and reminds me why we loved Flexi so much! Worth the inventory bloat? Mostly. You can also just buy a single color to avoid the math. School’s out and all that. But for me, with a staple like this, I wanted the flexibility to reuse.

In closing, as we enter the summer’s first epic heatwave here in Boston, I feel like at least my avatar (and my RL nose) are ready to lounge as ladies ought. Meanwhile, my avatar’s RL typist continues her crusade selling one home to settle into another. TBH I’d rather be my avatar these days.
