I try to fill my inventory with items that can be separated from their “outfits.” The only downside to mesh really is that a lot of things tend to come as “meant to be worn all together” as one look. I am less interested in that although I understand it from a dress or suit perspective. In general, I prefer items that can be used in whatever way I choose. Tee*fy does a masterful job at that, for example. If you visit the store you can find a ton of different tops and bottoms in addition to whatever new items are out at the events. She also has a complementary and consistent color palette for all the staples, so it’s easy to mix.
Some of my other favorite separates come from stores like ISON and Rowne (not shown but my all time favorite blouse is from Rowne and incredibly versatile). Yes, you sometimes have to fiddle with alpha cuts or wear a size above or below your norm to make it all work, but it’s better than always wearing everything “as is.” At least for me.
